This has been a rather quiet Labor Day weekend thus far. For the most part, we have done a few things around the house, grilled some pork chops on Saturday and watched a lot of TV. I have to say that the pork chops, corn on the cob, baked sweet potato and applesauce was pretty dadgum good. My wife made some homemade soup on Sunday that was delicious.
Yep, this has been a sedentary holiday, to say the least. It’s okay to do that once in a while, in my opinion.
I decided to get somewhat motivated this morning. Just a little, mind you.
I’ve been complaining that my side of our walk-in closet was really cramped and that I didn’t have enough hangers. Of course my wife suggested that I go through my clothes and decide what I wanted to keep and what could go to charity. Her suggestion won out!
The process of going through those clothes didn’t take too much time. As a result, I was able to fill a good size box with shirts that are in great shape. Now I have more than enough hangers so I guess I need more shirts now, right?!
Since today is Labor Day, it wasn’t advantageous to take the box of shirts to the charity. The box ended up in the garage but will go to the charity tomorrow morning.
I like the extra space that I gained in my closet and somebody will get some good shirts from my meager effort. (((patting myself on the back)))
There is some more decluttering that I can do in there but it’s going to have to wait for another day. It is a holiday, remember?
After my rather easy chore, I thought about my two granddaughters. If you’re a parent or grandparent, you know the smile from your son or daughter or grandson or granddaughter is pure joy and really there is nothing to compare this to.
Kids love to laugh and they love appreciations of all kinds and there is a new book out that helps to motivate kids while at the same time building their confidence and self esteem. TAKE A LOOK!
