Can There Be Trust After An Emotional Affair?

An acquaintance that your spouse had may have began innocently but escalated in to something more intimate but not physical. You want to save your marriage but can there be trust after an emotional affair?

When you discover that your spouse has developed a close relationship with someone that has somehow crossed the line toward intimacy, you may experience an array of reactions. Anger, guilt, sadness and neglect are just a few of these reactions. They may appear at different intervals during your discovering the affair.

Marriage is built on a connection that is emotional between two people that have shared the vows of marriage and, in turn, their lives. When one partner goes outside of the marriage to seek some sort of fulfillment, then that, in my opinion, is considered cheating. Even though there might not have been physical contact, it is still cheating.

If your spouse tells you about the “affair” then this is at least a step in the right direction toward repairing your marriage. It’s going to take some work for the two of you to build up your own relationship intimacy once again.  It can be done if you are willing.

Take an assessment of your emotional connection by examining your own relationship. Do you communicate or is it non-existent? Are there some neglect issues? Examining your marriage honestly can show where you could communicate better or make your spouse feel special.

Try to establish a time where you can an open and honest conversation. We’re not talking about a question and answer session. This should be a time that you could talk about anything and everything – nothing held back.

Non-verbal communication is just as important as verbal communication in some cases. Both of these can contribute to a deeper intimacy between the two of you. Sharing a movie together or flirting over dinner are forms of non-verbal communication. Strengthening your communication bond is important in rebuilding the trust in your marriage, especially after an emotional affair.

These examples, as well as others are necessary to establish trust after an emotional affair. Take the steps necessary to rebuild your marriage and get Instant Access to valuable information at SurvivingAffair.org
